Why I started
this.
I'm Jonah. I've been on the water in Northern Michigan my whole life — grew up on Grand Traverse Bay, spent summers crewing and eventually running my own boat. A few seasons ago I started trying to find someone to detail it properly and kept running into the same problems: crews that split the work between whoever was available, no one who could tell me exactly what compound they'd used on my gel-coat, shops that wanted me to haul out just to get a wax.
I started Michigan Marine Detailing because I wanted to do it the way I'd want it done to my own boat. One person who knows every inch of what they did, uses the right product for the substrate, and can look you in the eye when you walk the boat afterward.
Solo operation means I'm never splitting attention between three jobs. When I'm on your boat, that's the only boat.

I don't double-book or split attention. When I'm on your boat, it has my full focus — start to finish, no rushing to reach the next job.
Written quotes. No surprises.
You get a written number before I show up. The invoice matches. I don't discover extra work mid-job and call you for approval — I scope it right the first time.
Right product for the surface.
I know what compound goes on aged gel-coat vs. fresh, what sealant holds UV on the water, and when to stop cutting. Marine detailing isn't the same as automotive — I treat it accordingly.
You don't need to be there.
Most captains hand off the keys and come back to a finished boat. I send a start photo, a walkthrough video, and a written condition report. No surprises when you arrive.

I bring everything I need to your slip, your storage yard, or your driveway. No coordination with the marina lift, no extra fees, no wasted days waiting for a haul-out window.
